Some weddings are grand and full of spectacle. Others are quiet, deeply personal, and utterly moving. Bryan and Laura’s wedding day at the charming Oranmore Lodge in Galway was the latter — a beautifully intimate celebration shared with the people who matter most.
Surrounded by just a handful of their closest loved ones — their two children, their mums, and two best friends — Bryan and Laura exchanged vows in a heartfelt ceremony that felt profoundly special. To be one of the few people invited to witness their love in this way was a true honour. The atmosphere was peaceful and full of genuine emotion — no fuss, no distractions, just two people wholeheartedly committing their lives to each other.
After the ceremony, the three of us slipped away to nearby Renville Park for portraits. Nestled on the edge of Galway Bay, it offered a perfect mix of wild sea air, soft forest light, and the rugged beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way. We wandered among tall trees, stood beside the ancient stones of Renville Castle, and took time to soak in the moments. It was unhurried and natural — just the way they wanted it.
What stood out most throughout the day was the way Bryan and Laura looked at each other. It wasn’t just love — it was comfort, understanding, and a sense of home. There was an ease between them that spoke volumes. They laughed together, held hands often, and made space for quiet moments amidst the joy. It was clear that they’d walked a journey together already — and this day was about honouring that, not just beginning it.
After our portraits, we met up with their guests again at a local pub to raise a glass — or two — of wine and Guinness. The atmosphere was relaxed, warm, and joyful. Just like the rest of their day.
As I began editing their gallery, I found myself wanting to do more than just document the day — I wanted people to feel it. The love, the atmosphere, the quiet magic of such an intimate celebration. While my usual style leans toward a timeless, film-inspired look, I felt this story called for something a little different. For a select number of images, I created an additional editorial edit — rich in golden warmth, subtle grain, and a slightly more cinematic tone. These edits enhance the emotion and depth of the day, drawing you into each moment just a little more. It was about capturing not just how the day looked, but how it felt to be there.
Weddings like Bryan and Laura’s remind me of what really matters. Love. Family. Connection. And a story that’s deeply yours.
Thank you both for letting me be a small part of something so meaningful.
