A Romantic Winter Wedding at The K Club

The K Club makes the most beautiful backdrop for any wedding

Earlier this year, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Fionnuala and Joel’s beautiful wedding at the iconic K Club in County Kildare. It was one of those rare, perfect February days — the kind where the sun beams down, the sky stretches bright and blue, and love fills every moment.

The day began at Fionnuala’s family home, a place filled with warmth, laughter, and the excitement of the morning. I spent time capturing all the beautiful little details — delicate heirlooms, fresh florals, personal touches that made the space uniquely theirs. It’s these quieter moments before the ceremony that tell such an important part of the story, and it was a joy to document.

Fionnuala looked simply breathtaking in her Vivienne Westwood wedding gown. It was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and modern sophistication — the kind of dress that moves effortlessly and takes your breath away when you see it. Paired with a fabulous pair of shoes that could have walked straight off a Paris runway, she was every inch the radiant bride.

Joel, originally from the U.S., looked equally dashing, bringing his easy charm and huge smile to every part of the day. Their ceremony took place at the beautiful St. Brigid’s Church in Straffan — a truly romantic setting that felt intimate and meaningful, surrounded by family and close friends.

After the ceremony, we made our way to The K Club — and what a venue it is. With its sweeping gardens, elegant interiors, and timeless grandeur, it’s an absolute dream for a wedding photographer. Every corner of the K Club offers something special: golden afternoon light spilling over the manicured grounds, cosy corners for portraits, and majestic architecture that frames every photo beautifully.

We were blessed with the kind of golden winter light that makes everything glow, and Fionnuala and Joel made the most of every moment — laughing, embracing, and truly soaking in the joy of the day. It was a privilege to capture their love in such an extraordinary setting.
